So where you been? what you doing? how's it all going? have been the questions fired at us the past month.
Well, ladies and gents, we have been busy as busy can be, writing and planning for the rest of 2017!
Since our last blog we had a really productive time touring and promoting our latest album Vices - it has been an absolute blast playing and meeting people. Life on the road was great, travelling around the country, eating services food and going over to Europe. We played acoustic gigs through the day at Paul Smith stores and smashed it out fully plugged at night. Although it took its toll - but more on that a bit later.
After getting back we hit the studio rehearsing and getting ready to launch our new double A side single 'Cold' and 'I Want the World'. Cold got a cheeky little remix by adding grime artist GT Solo to give the track an even harder hitting feel in response to the latest governments cuts and also what happened at Grenfell towers.
The response to the tracks has been beyond amazing, with them being played worldwide, from Newcastle to New Jersey. Both tracks have received some serious major air play!!!! Cold was picked up by Johnny Doom on Kerrang and BBC Introducing South have played it and invited us in to do a live lounge session of three songs on 2nd September. I Want the World was picked up and played on Planet Rock with Wyatt Wendell's New Rock Show and also by none other than the legend Mr Gary Crowley, who played it on BBC Introducing on Radio London!
Our summer/autumn is continuing with the recording of new demos, re-working some classic KK songs and playing some more shows - with a small tour coming up in October to promote another new brand new single.
Now going back briefly to the toll.....
We have parted ways with Nadia who we are happy to announce has found love and is currently travelling. Despite the loss, we have a very exciting announcement in telling you that we have a brand new bass player in our great friend Conor Cotterill (drumroll please).
Conor is a great addition to the band as he has a natural ability to learn quickly, challenge and take things to the next level. He has brought a fresh level of excitement and danger to the band, as proved when he played his debut gig at an acoustic set at the BBC, where the tinder box was truly lit. So get ready for a very aggressive and loud show on the 30th of August when we play a showcase gig in Camden at The Fiddlers Elbow. It's going to be hot, wild and very sweaty!
With all this going on we would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported us on the journey so far - it's been totally amazing to play our music to you and if you haven't caught us live yet don't worry - we are coming to a town near you soon, so bring ear plugs!!!
